Cloudbase Paragliding offers a fun-filled one day flying experience that will solve the mystery and see you enjoy the thrill of foot-launching a six-kilogram inflatable wing.
As is the case with every aviation sport, paragliding is inherently dangerous and must be treated with respect. If you have never done paragliding before then you must start at the introductory level, on the beach with a slope no higher than 40 metres. Our training dune is on a beautiful expanse of beach in Wilderness, where you are able to fly and progress safely!
After a short theory exercise you’ll start learning ground control of the canopy under the supervision of an instructor and on flat ground. As you become proficient in handling the wing, you’ll start moving up the sand dune and your flights will become longer and higher as your confidence and ability increase. It’s that simple!!
The course costs R2 000 and includes instructor time, all equipment (glider, harness, helmet). In order to secure your booking a non-refundable deposit of 10% is required. The balance is payable on commencement of the course. If due to unforeseen circumstances we cannot fly on the day, Cloudbase Paragliding undertakes to provide training on the next suitable day. If the student voluntarily withdraws from the course, he/she forfeits the course fee.
Students must provide their own transport to the school (lifts can be arranged), laced shoes (running shoes or hiking boots preferable), suntan lotion, water, a hat, short pants and a T-shirt.
