SAHPA

SAPHA logoThe South African Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (SAHPA) is the governing recreation sport authority for hang gliding, paragliding, powered paragliding and powered hang gliding in South Africa. SAHPA’s mission statement is to promote, protect and administer hang gliding and paragliding in South Africa. CAA recognises and authorizes SAHPA to issue licenses to its members, through the Aero Club of South Africa, on behalf of CAA. SAHPA is answerable to both AeCSA and CAA. You are welcome to visit the SAHPA website here.

On completion of your Basic License course you will receive your SAHPA Basic License card as well as an IPPI card. This will enable you to fly in South Africa and the rest of the world. If you are resident of another country other than South Africa, these two licenses will be recognised by your governing body for paragliding and you will be able to convert to their equivalent rated license.

Cloudbase Paragliding has been approved as a Declared Training Organisation under Subpart 8 of Part 141 of the South African Civil Aviation Regulations.
